Parthia in F "pour la chasse"
RWV B18
for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 3 horns, 2
bassoons and violone
According to the edition of harmony music of Oettingen -Wallerstein, this
parthia of Rosetti shall complete the series. The instrumentation for three
horns was also chosen by Joseph Reicha Parthia in F
and
Parthia in D, as well as by Paul Wineberger
(since 1785 leader of the court chase music)
Parthia in F. The latter even wrote parthias
for four horns
Parthia in chasse and Parthia in F. All works
together have in common that they were written for the chase or picked the chase
out as the special theme.
This work of Rosetti came into existence in Wallerstein 1785. In the upper
right corner there is the note "pour la chasse". This edition is based on the
autograph in score, kept by the university library in Augsburg (Signatur III 4
1/2 4 °284). The autograph is written very neat and in every detail.
The third horn part is again a mixture of high and low pitch levels as it is
in the other parthias.
Paul Dombrecht and the
Octophorus-Ensemble already recorded this Parthia on CD.
