Carl Anton Philipp Braun (1788 - 1835) was taught by his father Johann Friedrich Braun (1759 - 1824), who played the oboe and violin at the Court in Ludwigslust, in playing the oboe. Since 1807 he played under his uncle Friedrich Ludwig Aemilius Kunzen, royal chamber musician in Kopenhagen. His concert tour in 1811 led him back to his home town Ludwigslust and then to Waltershausen and Leipzig, in April 1822 he gave concerts in Munich. In 1815 he became member of the Court Chapel in Stockholm and afterwards was music director of several regiments. With subscription concerts in Sweden he supported the public music scene. He wrote especially music for oboe, harmony pieces and play music. (According to MGG Bd. 15, S.1056, Bärenreiter 1986)
