Antonio Rosetti

Concerto in Dis (d sharp = e flat) for Corno da caccia princip.

(Murray C 49)

It seems to be the most famous horn concerto of Rosetti, which was composed "pour Monsieur Dürrschmied" as Rosetti himself wrote on the autograhp score. He probably thought of Carl Türrschmidt (1753-1797) who was the son of the horn player at the Wallerstein Court, Johann Türrschmidt (1725-1800). The last one was on several concert tours together with the other horn player Palsa. For example, they played one concerto for two horns by Rosetti in Paris on the 24th March 1780. It is also known that they played in Leipzig  in 1780.

Certainly, Rosetti helped the young Carl Türrschmidt by composing this wonderful concerto to get off on the rigth foot in Wallerstein in 1779.
