Antonio Rosetti

  • Concerto F major for Horn  (Murray C 53)

2 Violins, 2 Violas, Basso, 2 Oboes und 2 Horns tutti

This concerto has the title "Corno secundo principale" and is kept in manuscript parts in the library of Augsburg( Signatur III 4 1/2 4°276). The concerto was composed about 1780. Although not listed in the title, the concerto there is a second viola part. The missing first page of the second viola part has been completed in the new edition. In the parts of the solo horn and the second viola there are bars 231 to 239 which had not been crossed out as in the other parts. The new edition contains all these bars. The reason for the cross out was that the cadence should have been left out. The new edition also completed the articulation and dynamic markings, which had been left out by the copist.
