Heinrich Proch (* born in Vienna 22th July 1809,died in Vienna 18th December 1878) learned to play the violin, 1834-67 member of the Viennese court chapel and in addition 1837-40 conductor at the theatre of the Josefstadt. From 1840 to 1870 he conducted the Kärntnertortheater (later court opera). He composed numerous operas, orchestra works and more than 200 songs. As respected song teacher he taught among others Amalie Materna. He emerged also as translator of libretti. 

The basis for this new edition is the old print of Diabelli in Vienna. The range of the vocal part is from c' (one-line octave) to e''.
