The composer Johann Sobeck, born 1831, was the 1st clarinettist of the royal opera in Hanover of 1851 -- 1901. He was honoured occasionally for his merits, he got the könglich Prussian crown medal IV.Klasse and Herzoglich-Coburg-Gotha's income medallion for art and science into silver so. Johann Sobeck died in 1914.

Sobecks oeuvre covers concerning chamber music works for the clarinet mostly. Since he was a tall admirer of Beethoven, among other things he was a member of the Beethoven pair of compasses of Boulogne sur mer, he completed the unfinished violin concert and it arranged for the clarinet.

The four quintets are welfare part of its most important works for woodwind quintet.
