Music
at the Court of Schwerin
Johann Matthias Sperger
Concerto E flat major for Horn and
Orchestra (SWV B26)
- First Edition - |
 |
| Sperger was born in Feldberg (Valtice/Czechia, today Austria) in 1750.
He was trained as bass player and worked at courts of Grosswardstein and
Eisenstadt. He was employed at the court of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. He died in
1812. The manuscript of this concerto( mus 5174/10 ) is kept in the music
collection of the library Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin. It is composed
in the style of the Viennese classical music. This is likely unusual by the
place of its genesis.
