1st Symphonie concertante E flat major

for 2 horns solo and orchestra

Othon Joseph Vandenbroek (often wrongly written Vandenbrock or Van den Broeck) was born 20 December 1758 in Ypres (Flandern) and died 18 October 1832 in Passy (Paris). Vandenbroeck was probably of Dutch origin. He was taught on the horn by the horn virtuoso Spandau (about 1770-1780) in Den Haag as well as in composition by  Fuchs and J. Schmitt. He was member of the orchestra in Maastrich 1781, two years later he moved to Paris and it is known that he played a horn concerto in Concert Spirituel 1784. He was successful in playing virtuose horn player in Concerts de la Loge Olympique. He was member of several orchestras as: Théâtre de la rue Feydeau (1789-1791), Opéra (1793-1816), Garde Nationale. In 1795 he became professor at the Conservatoire de Music. In 1812 he was»attaché à la chapelle de l'Empereur et Roi«, 1816 he was retired.

It was published in Paris about 1790 by Boyer. The part for the oboes contain the addition ou Floto.
